The Art of Being Yourself
The revolutionary works of Jean-Michel Basquiat, perhaps the last of the artists of the XX century who left behind a powerful romantic aura, challenged the fundamental ideas of the public about the art of that time, and the debate about it has not subsided to this day. The artist left a great legacy and changed the art world forever, erasing boundaries and building his own way of storytelling. The graffiti wall at 57 Great Jones Street, New York, once belonged to Andy Warhol, after which it was rented by Basquiat, who lived here from 1983 until his death in 1988. His studio was on the ground floor, and his living quarters were upstairs Paying tribute to the most active period of the Brooklyn poet, musician, artist and rebel, we took a basic denim jacket as a canvas for his works and visualized the scene.
